Flux Texting Policy
Flux sends text messages on behalf of home service businesses that use our platform. There are two kinds of messages.
Service messages relate to work you asked a business to do: appointment reminders, review requests after a completed job, quote links, and quote follow-ups.
Marketing messages promote a business's services: win-back offers for past customers and promotional campaigns. These are only sent to people who gave the business written permission to receive marketing texts. Marketing messages are never sent from the Flux number that carries service messages; a business sends marketing only from its own dedicated business number once carrier registration for that number is approved.
How people opt in
Service messages: you provide your phone number to a participating business when booking or requesting service, with a disclosure that you agree to receive service update texts about that work. Before the first service message, you receive a one-time confirmation text naming the business and explaining how to opt out or get help.
Verbal consent script
When a customer books over the phone or in person, the business reads this script before their mobile number is entered for texting:
"Hi, this is [your name] with [business name]. We send service texts: appointment reminders, a review request after your job, and quote links. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies with your service. You can reply STOP at any time to stop them, or HELP for help. Agreeing to texts is not required to book with us. Is it okay if we text you at [customer's mobile number]?"
The number is only entered for texting if the customer says yes, and the business records that consent in Flux with the date it was given.
Marketing messages: the business must have your prior express written consent before any marketing text is sent. Before a business can launch a marketing campaign in Flux, it must confirm in writing that every recipient gave that consent, and Flux keeps a record of that confirmation.
Message frequency and rates
Service message frequency varies with service activity. Marketing messages are limited by Flux to at most three per week per recipient across all of a business's campaigns. Message and data rates may apply.
Opting out
Reply STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE, or OPT OUT to any message to stop receiving texts. Plain requests like "please stop texting me" are honored too. Reply HELP for help. You can also contact the business directly. Opting out is immediate and permanent unless you text START to resubscribe.
